Liberal Alternative

liberal Alternative (Al) is a liberal political party French officially created on March 1st 2006.

Origins and influences

Liberal alternative refers inter alia to the Progressive Democrats Irish or to the Parti German liberal-democrat (FDP), and dissociates old party liberal Démocratie in what its Libéralisme would exceed the economic sphere in which DLL would have been confined. He aspires to becoming a force between the preserving Socialistes and ; from where the choice of purple like color, mixture of the red of the left and the blue of the right .

The first president of the movement was Edouard Fillias, and his principal spokesperson, Sabine Herold, his wife. They were made known as founders of association Liberté, I write your name (Most cherished liberty).

French liberal associations (Most cherished liberty, the French Institute for research on the public administrations (IFRAP), Taxpaying associated or S.O.S Education) variously accommodated the birth of liberal Alternative, partly consisted militants of these associations.

For certain liberals such as Bernard Zimmern, president of the iFRAP, the foundation of liberal Alternative can only weaken the liberal pole of the Union for a popular movement (UMP). The founders of liberal Alternative refute this analysis, judging that UMP is not a liberal party, but a conservative party and etatist.

Most cherished liberty did not communicate its point of view on the existence of this party but affirms being independent of very party. It seems that there exist growing differences in opinion in any case, increasingly marked between the party and the association which clashed besides by platforms interposed in Le Figaro about the " class action " in August 2006.

On the level European, Liberal Alternative receives, at the time of its 2nd national congress on February 4th, 2007, the visit and the support of the president Annemie Neyts of ELDR, the grouping of the liberal parties with the European Parliament.

October 3rd, 2007, Edouard Fillias announces that it will not be represented for a new mandate with the presidency of the party, this one having to be given concerned on October 28th. October 28th, 2007, Aurélien Véron is elected new president d' liberal Alternative.

Committees

The movement is organized on all France and asserted with the regional October 1st, 110 local committees and 23 federations. With the international level, Al announces 13 international committees distributed on all the continents. Lastly, 25 committees of action coed take part according to Al in the life coed and academic at the local level.

Electoral strategy

Liberal alternative indicated Edouard Fillias like candidate with the presidential election of 2007. July 1st, 2006, Al announced that " the five hundred signatures do not seem to be a problem with réunir" , then on December 28th, 2006 that " it was not impossible only candidate the obtienne" . Alternative Libérale asserts the sponsorship of Alain Madelin. Finally Edouard Fillias, not having collected a number of sufficient signatures, withdrew his candidature for presidential and gave his support for Francois Bayrou.

Al introduced candidates in approximately 50 districts to legislative of 2007; Sabine Herold was presented in the 15th district (16°nord) of Paris vis-a-vis outgoing the UMP Bernard Debré and obtained 1.36% of the voices. In the 12th district of Paris, it is Edouard Fillias which was candidate in the district gained by Philippe Goujon (UMP). It obtained 0.52% there.

Program

Liberal alternative is a liberal movement , i.e. favorable to a " company of free the choix" , which implies necessarily the individual responsibility and must be guaranteed by the Loi and the Rule of law.

This party wishes a State which guarantees the Justice, the Liberté and deals with the kingly functions such as the National defense or safety. From the political and social point of view, liberal Alternative defends the Human rights, the fundamental individual freedoms and individual blooming for all.

The flagship measures are: universal Allowance, end of the monopoly of the social security, removal of the report card and autonomy of the universities, Tax atsingle rate, legalization of the cannabis or introduction of the actions of group.

Thus, they are opposed as well to the Socialisme out of economic material and social as with the Conservatisme as regards manners. Liberal alternative is generally classified to right of the political chessboard; it is the reflection of a French political field dominated by the economic questions and social. With the United States where it is on the question of the values that the political parties clash, American Libertarian Party is regarded by certain conservatives as a left party of .
