Liability-aggressive behavior
The expression liability-aggressive can apply to an attitude in particular or a personality in general. It indicates a passive behavior of obstructionism or resistance or avoidance in the interpersonal relationships or the activities.
This attitude can appear in the form of resentment, of stubbornness, procrastination, acrimony, failure repeated to achieve a task for which the person is - often explicitly - responsible.
It is about a mechanism of defense which, generally, is only partially conscious. A personality " passive-agressive" express outside its aggressiveness only through one passive frontage. For example, this type of personality will express anger mainly in a subtle way, by insinuations or not-verbal behaviors, often denied if these behaviors are clarified by the subject which undergoes them. The behaviors " liability-agressifs" can include for example: the fact of forgetting appointments, engagements, or of arriving late continuously; the fact of formulating unpleasant words or insinuations, then to claim that these words or insinuations were badly interpreted, and to deny any ulterior motive; the fact of exteriorizing feelings in a not-verbal way (for example by claquant a door, or by throwing an object), then to deny the feelings that this behavior can legitimately evoke (e.g., anger).
