Li Luoneng
Li luoneng (李落能, 1807 - 1888), of its true name Li Feifu, also known under the Li nengran pseudonym, taught the style which one currently knows under the name of Xingyiquan (Xing yi quan).
It is him which created this style, according to the techniques of Xinyi liuhe quan which he had learned in Shanxi. It went there between 1840 and 1850 in order to study in the school of Dai Longbang. Chronologically, Li Luoneng could not follow the teaching of Dai Longbang in person (Dai Longbang, born with the neighborhoods from 1720, would have died in 1809). It would be his/her son Dai Wenxun who would have taught with Li family art. The change of the Xin character in Xing would originate in the fact that in Shanxi the pronunciation of these two characters is identical. Li luoneng, originating in Hebei, would thus have interpreted the name Xinyiquan differently, the transmission being done orally.
The Chinese historians currently think that Li luoneng would not have studied the totality of the art of the Dai family, which would explain the technical differences that one finds starting from this character.
Li luoneng had many disciples. Among the most known, one finds Che yizhai, Liu qilan, Guo Yunshen and Song shirong.
