Lhotse

Summit of the the Himalayas on the border Nepal - Tibet (China), the Lhotse is the fourth plus high summit of the world with an altitude of 8.516 meters. Its name means peak of the south in Tibetan because one can join it since the Everest via the southern collar.

Rises

  • 1956 - the first rise is made the May 18th by Swiss the Fritz Luchsinger and Ernst Reiss.
  • 1996 - Chantal Mauduit becomes the first woman to climb this top.
  • December 31st 1988 - Krzysztof Wielicki, a Pole, carries out the first winter rise of a top of more than 8.000 meters.
