Lftp

Lftp is a program in line of ordering of transfer of file for Unix and related operating systems. He was written by Alexandre Lukyanov and is distributed under public License general GNU.

Functionalities

In addition to the protocol ftp and HTTP in Ipv4 and Ipv6, this program also manages the FTPS, HTTPS, HFTP, FISH, FXP and SFTP by specifying the protocol wanted in URL.

Beside the functions common to advanced customers ftp, like the possibility of recursively retorting a whole tree structure of repertories, enregistement of bookmarks of addresses and the capacity to take again a stopped remote loading, lftp proposes the following functions. The transfers can be planned, thebusy one can be controlled, of the queues of transfers can be organized. Lftp offers also the control of the tasks by Shell the made-to-order of the operating systems Unix. The customer can entirely fit in a script instead of being used in an interactive way by the user.

Development

Lftp was developed with its beginnings like a program member of a package named Ftpclass (announced on August 1st, 1996 on relcom.tcpip). This program grew until becoming rather advanced and was famous Lftp in February 1997. Desired qualities original were a great robustness, the possibility of taking again stopped transfers and the acceleration of the transfer time by paralleling connections. A little later the function réplications of tree structure of repertories was added.

Security breaches

  • December 2003: Relate to all the versions of the 2.3.0 to the 2.6.9. The problem was regulated by the version 2.6.10
