The town of Topeka is the capital of the state Kansas, with the the United States. Located orginellement on the territory of the Indians Shawnee, it is the fourth most populated city state with more 122 000 inhabitants.

History
Topeka leaves ground in 1854. It one of the cities of the free states is rested by the men of the Is against the slave system. Although the dryness 1860 and the civil war (1861 - 1865) slowed down the growth of Topeka and all the state, the city attends with a rebirth and one beneficial period of growth in Kansas of 1865 to 1870. In 1869, the railway line starts to be built in the west. Offices and general workshops of mechanical engineering of Atchison, and system of railroad of Santa Fe are established in Topeka in 1878. During the years 1880, Topeka crosses a difficult phase which finished in the disaster and much of investors are ruined. However, the city doubles its population for this period and succeeds in surviving the depressions of the years 1890. To Topeka the racial segregation is applied only for the elementary schools. Following various lawsuits, a law is voted for racial integration in all the American public schools.
June 8th, 1966, Topeka is struck by a Tornade of force 5 the Échelle of Fujita. The cost of degradations rises to 100 million Dollars making this tornado one of most expensive of the history of the United States.
