Lewes is a rather small city, located towards the south is of the county of Sussex of the East, of which it is the capital, in the south east of England. The Ouse passes in the center of the city. At the edge of the river one finds the brewery of Harveys.

At the 11th century, and perhaps front, a Rape had been created which had as a center this city. William the Conqueror had entrusted this territory to Guillaume Ier de Warenne, with load for him to build a castle.
