Levente Szuper

Levente Szuper (born the June 11th 1980 with Budapest in Hungary) is a player of professional Hockey, evolving/moving at the station of goalkeeper.

Szuper started very young person to play hockey in its native Hungary, but showed also artistic predispositions. He became an actor and an achieved pianist, but it will be between the posts that he will find his way and will reach a level of elite. At only sixteen years, it becomes the high-speed motorboat of the Ferencváros TC and was named better player junior of Hungary. It was transferred to the Krefeld Pinguine from LED for the season 1997-98, following a good service with the Championnat of the world of hockey 1998 (group C) with the team of Hungary.

In spite of its successes in Europe, Szuper was always an unknown in North America when it made its entry in OHL with the 67 of Ottawa in 1998. In spite of the fact that it had to share its work in the nets with Seamus Kotyk, it excelled in 1998-99, going to the tournament Coupe Memorial with the 67 as host team in 1999, beating bulldozers of Belleville in semi-final to finally face the Hitmen of Calgary. Ottawa triumphed by the mark over 7-6 and the name of Szuper was on all the lips - one spoke about him like hope of the LNH.

No team having chosen it with the Fishing out of entry in the LNH 1999, Szuper turned over with the 67 for another season, where it continued to shine. Ottawa gained division Is, but lost with the hands of Belleville in semi-final of conference.

The chance smiles to Levente with the Repêchage of entry in the LNH 2000 whereas the Flames of Calgary chose it with the 4th turn, 116e on the whole. It spent the three following seasons in the American Ligue of hockey, with the Flames of Saint-John, gaining the Coupe Calder in 2001.

In 2002-03, Szuper was recalled by the Flames. It was equipped for nine matches as substitute, but one never gave him the chance to put forward oneself on the ice. He became thus the very first native player of Hungary to be found on the alignment of a team of the LNH for a match, but its name does not appear in the registers of the league because he played forever.

Not having been able to maintain its place in the organization of the Flames after the Season LNH 2002-03, Szuper spent one season with the Rivermen de Peoria of ECHL before turning over on the Old continent, to Hungary with the Dunaújváros AC, then in the Série has Italy with the Asiago HC in 2005-06, and EV Duisburg of Germany in 2006-07.
