Lev Borissovitch Kamenev (ЛевБорисовичКаменев) of its true name Rosenfeld (Розенфельд), born the July 6th 1883 with Moscow and dead the August 25th 1936 was a revolutionist and Russian politician of Jewish origin.

Biography

Old friend of Lénine which he had known with the Congress of London in 1905, he was an important member of POSDR, and after the Russian Révolution, one of the principal leaders Bolchevik S. He was married with the Bolchevique Olga Davidovna Bronstein, sister of Trotsky, with which he had two children and of which he will separate at the end of the years “20 for a second marriage. It took part, with the Iskra and the drafting, in Suisse, of the Pravda, initially with Trotsky, then in the opposite faction. He was operations manager clandestine in Russia.

After this period abroad, it returned to Saint-Pétersbourg, but was stopped. Slackened after the revolution of February 1917, he was elected with the Central committee. He was opposed to the project of insurrection of Lénine: an article published with Grigori Zinoviev against the project of insurrection was to remain in the memories, with their detriment. A vote of the majority of the party was favorable to the strategy of Lénine. It joined, and after the success of the Revolution, was elected President of the Central Executive committee - in position of Head of the State - by the second Congrès of the Soviets, joined together at the same date in preparation for the success of the revolution. He was also one of the very first members of the Political office (Politburo). There was among the collaborators of Lénine of the political divergences and strategic: Kamenev, in.liaison.with Zinoviev and Stalin, was opposed in 1923 to Trotsky but, three years later, after the death of Lénine, it formed with Trotsky the left opposition in Stalin of which both criticized the tendency to bureaucracy.

The fall

So Kamenev was excluded from the party in 1927. It made amend, asking its rehabilitation which was granted to him in 1928. In 1932, it was again excluded, and again required of Stalin to be reinstated: it was it. However hardly three years later, it was stopped and condemned to ten years of prison with the reason to have conspired to assassinate Stalin. This one, at that time, had indeed established its dictatorial capacity, and it was extremely being wary. At the time of the beginning of the Lawsuit of Moscow, in 1936, he was again judged, with Zinoviev and others, this time for treason towards the Soviet State. Considered to be guilty, it was carried out in Moscow.

His/her children were also carried out, Yu. L. Kamenev on January 30th, 1938, at the age of 17 years and A.L. Kamenev, officer of aviation, on July 15th, 1939, at the 33 years age. His first wife, it, was carried out by NKVD on the order of Stalin on September 11th, 1941 with 160 other political prisoners in the forest of Medvedev close to Orel. Only younger sound wire, Vladimir Glebov, resulting from its second marriage, will survive the prisons and Stalinist camps of work.
