Leuna business

The business Leuna is a politico-financial Affaire Franco-German related to the payment of funds to German political parties by the oil company Elf Aquitaine for the purchase of the East-German refinery Leuna.

Following the German reunification, the German government of the federal chancellor CDU Helmut Kohl decides to sell certain companies East-German. The sale of the Leuna refinery to the French oil group gives place to financings of CDU and CSU by Elf.
