Let us make a dream

Faisons a dream is a Play of Sacha Guitry written in 1916.

It is a part of youth of Sacha Guitry, it has thirty-one years when it plays it for the first time in 1916. The distribution is then made up of his first wife, Charlotte Lysès, of her friend Raimu whom it distributes in the role of the husband, while the author holds that of the lover. It takes again the part in 1921, with Yvonne Printemps, which became his second wife, Raimu keeps, of course, its role. Then, in 1936, it carries it to the cinema with Jacqueline Delubac, his third wife… Raimu is always there! From there to say, that the women pass and that the friends remain…

But let us total 1916, the year of creation. Guitry is a young author, but who has already a good number of successes behind him. And during this terrible war of 14-18, he writes something of light inevitably, of carefree man, where he insufflates an incredible wind of youth on the Parisian scene. He completely renews the Comedy of manners, the barge of his middle-class rules of then, creates characters closer to reality, invents the daily newspaper in the dialogs. He finds a spontaneousness of tone and very innovative verb. And they is curious to think that, for much today, he is a middle-class author, whereas he swept all the rules, that he always made of it only at his head, that he unceasingly invented, that he was never locked up in a kind, and that its morals, always, do not have anything conventional.
