Lessy
Lessy is a common French located in the department of the the Moselle.
Geography
Located on the slopes of the Moselle, the village of Lessy, like many establishments of these hills, is located at the limit of geological layers limestones and argillaceous geological layers, at the point of resurgence of several sources. Traditional village of the Lorraine area, it combined a long time the culture of the Vigne (producing a wine called gray wine) and the breeding (the nickname of its inhabitants was “grillebocons”, i.e. “bacon eaters”). Today, the village primarily became residential, the majority of its inhabitants working in the agglomeration close to Metz.
History
One of the oldest proven known establishments with Lessy is that of the knights teutonic who there édifière a castle whose keep is today the bell-tower of the church of the village. But of the older establishments are suspectées, and in particular the presence of a Roman foundry.Located near the prosperous Metz-native city, the village of Lessy, like the majority of its neighbors, sudden of very many devastations related to the attraction of the city: the many seats carried out by the dukes of Lorraine, war the thirty year old brought their batches of destruction to this village of farmers.
