The Lessona is an Italian dry red wine of the area Piedmont equipped with a name DOC. since December 3rd, 1976. Only to DOC. the red wines collected inside the surface of production defined by the decree are entitled. The authorized vineyards are located in Province of Biella and Province of Verceil in the commune of Lessona. The 6,45 hectares delimited are in production.

Legal minimum ageing: 2 - 3 years, including at least 12 - 24 months were of oak or chestnut like 12 months out of bottle.

Organoleptic characteristics

  • color : garnet-red red with orange reflections, which attenuates with time.

  • odor : characteristic, intense, which are refined with ageing, flavors of purple.
  • savor : dryness and full, velvety with a pleasant slightly bitter and tannic bottom.

The Lessona is tasted at a 16 - 18° C and it will keep 10 - 15 years temperature.
