Lesperon
Lesperon is a common French, located in the department of the Ardèche and the area the Rhone-Alps.
Geography
Lesperon (Ardeche) extends on 2499 hectares with the junction from three areas: Languedoc-Roussillon (Lozere), Auvergne (Haute-Loire), the Rhone-Alps (Ardeche). Concoules, Chamblazère, Genestouse, Ribeyre, Lesperon, Hermet-Chabalier, Hermet-Ginestouse, Malesveilles, Mauras and Pestel compose this ardéchoise commune which is crossed by two rivers (the Allier and Espezonnette).
History
The commune of Lesperon has a classified church of XIIe century equipped with a splendid bell-tower with comb. The church of Saint-Hilaire-of-Lesperon was a priory of the abbey of Saint-Guilhem-the-Desert (Herault) of XIe century at the revolutionary period. In XIIe-XIIIe centuries, the way of Régordane which leads Saint-Gilles (Gard) to the Puy-en-Velay (Haute-Loire), two high places of pilgrimage, crosses this village.

Lesperon is the birthplace of the Troubadour Perdigon (born towards 1070/1075). According to its biography occitane, Perdigos fo (...) of the avescat of Gevaudan, of a borc which has name Lespero E fo filhs of a pescador (Perdigon (...) of was évêché of Gévaudan, a borough named Lesperon, and was wire of fisherman).
