Lesnoto

Based on the principle of the simple swing , the lesnoto (in Macedonian лесното , simple dance) is the dance most representative of the traditional repertory Macedonian. He is carried out in opened chain, the leader on the right, and is held while progressing towards the line. Generally measures 7/8 of them (3+2+2), the dance accelerates towards a measurement 7/16.

It is traditionally a dance of men, the hands on the shoulders of the neighbor, but alternation man-woman took the top since the Second world war and the dancers are held by the hand, arms folded with height of the shoulders.

One of the most popular melodies of lesnoto is the song '' Makedonsko devojče '' ('' Македонскодевойче '').

The dance is complete in three measurements (measurements 1 and 2 form a double , measurement 3 a simple ):

  • measurement 1
    • (1-3) a step of the right foot on the right
    • (4-5) resting against the right foot, the left leg describes a light arc of circle preparing the following support
    • (6-7) a step of the left foot on the right, in front of the right
  • measurement 2
    • (1-3) a step of the right foot on the right
    • (4-7) resting against the right foot, rising the left leg (thigh with horizontal)
  • measurement 3
    • (1-3) a step of the left foot on the left
    • (4-7) resting against the left foot, rising the leg right-hand side (thigh with horizontal)
The leader guides using a handkerchief and can indicate the execution of turns or squatted (measurements 2 and 3, time 4-7) or improvises figures lifting than it is alone with being able to carry out, being supported by the second dancer.
