Leschaux is a common French, located in the department of the Haute-Savoie and the area the Rhone-Alps.

Geography

The communes of Leschaux is in the Massif Wallows, on the slopes of the Semnoz, in the South of Annecy. Touvière and the Rooms, small places known as of the neighborhoods, belong to the commune.

Etymology

Derived from the expression patoisante " Cha" , it indicates the pastures of mountains of difficult access and thin in vegetation. " Chaux" , as former French, " means; improductif" place;.

Located on the sides of Semnoz, the commune of Leschaux, which owes its name with a family of small lords, “Limes”, settled with the collar of the same name, only road access in the middle of the Wallows since the Annecy Lake. Today, Leschaux is a door of access to the top of Semnoz and its ski station, and wishes to develop its situation of view-point of the lake.
