Leroy Vinnegar

Leroy Vinnegar (born the July 13rd 1928 with Indianapolis - died the August 3rd 1999 with Portland cement, Oregon) was a Contrebassiste of Jazz.

Vinnegar was made a reputation with Los Angeles in the years 1950 and 1960. Its specificity was the line of " walking" low, and its nickname the Walker . He took part in several pop albums in particular Saint Dominic' S Preview of Van Morrison in 1972.

He recorded at the same time like leader or Sideman . He drew the attention in the years 1950 while recording with André Previn, Stan Getz, Shorty Rogers, Chet Baker, Shelly Manne and Serge Chaloff. He played of low on the album My Fair Lady of Prévin and Manne. He also took part in the album Swiss Movement of Eddie Harris and McCann in 1969.

Vinnegar moved in Portland in 1986.
