Lepton Number
Presentation
In Physical of the particles, the lepton number is a quantum Nombre invariant (just like the baryon Nombre) allotted to the particle S and is the subject of a conservation at the time of a nuclear Reaction.
Value
The lepton number is worth +1 for a Lepton, -1 for a antilepton and 0 for very other particle. It is about a quantity which is reversed at the time of passage of the Matière to the Antimatière.
Conservation
In each nuclear Reaction, there is conservation lepton number. For example, the Muon (lepton number 1) disintegrates in:- muon Neutrino (lepton number 1),
- electron (lepton number 1),
- antineutrino electronic (lepton number -1).
That is to say : there is thus conservation of the lepton number.
To know
With the theory (hypothetical) of the Great unification, there would be nona Conservation baryon and lepton numbers. How knowledge? A sign of this nonConservation would be the Désintégration Proton. Only, for the moment, this disintegration observed forever. Also, one allots to the Proton a Demi-vie higher than 1030 seconds. But perhaps that in the future…
