Leopold Kozłowski (in), born the November 26th 1918 in Przemyślany not far from Lwów, Pianist, Type-setter, Leader. Representative of the tradition Klezmer in Poland, called the “last klezmer of Galicie”.
Leopold Kozłowski is the grandson of Pejsach Brandwein which created the most famous musical unit klezmer of Galicie with his/her many sons. The group occurred including front the sovereigns of Europe. One of the uncles de Leopold Kozłowski, the clarinettist Naftule Brandwein, propagated in the United States the tradition klezmer.
Leopold Kozłowski finished musical studies of piano to the academy of music of Lwów in 1941 and leader in the High-school of music of Cracow. Founded and directed during 23 years the Ensemble of songs and dances of Cracow . Was the musical director of the Jewish Théâtre of Warsaw , group Tzigane Roma, musical consultant of the folk group Polish Rzeszowiacy . The music composed of several films of which Austeria realized by Jerzy Kawalerowicz (1983). He played in the film the list of Schindler of Steven Spielberg of which he was the consulting musical one for the music of the ghetto. He worked on the Polish version of the Musical comedy a violin on the roof . He occurred in rounds in Europe, with the the United States, in Israel. Today still he plays, in the district of Kazimierz.
