Biography

Leonor Varela was born on December 29th 1972 with Santiago. His/her father is a famous Chilean biologist, Francisco Varela, and his mother, Leonor Palma, a dancer free-Hungarian woman.

She passed her childhood to the Costa Rica following the departure of her family of the Chile to flee the dictatorship of Pinochet. She also lived some time in Germany, with the the United States and in France. In 1990, his/her parents went back to Chile while it decided to remain with Paris to follow courses of theater to the School of the Passage directed by Niels Arestrup. It there cotoya of many actresses who turn today on Paris, in particular Catherine Sohier, artistic director of the company Sol Lucet Omnibus.

It began its career from actress in 1995 in a film for children, Pony Trek , then in an episode of Under the sun and in an episode of the series of Science fiction " Stargate Atlantis" (episode 114: Sanctuary). Then it obtained the celebrity in her country of origin while playing in the series Tic TAC . It accepted an international recognition in 1999 to have interpreted the main role of the telefilm Cléopâtre , in company of Billy Zane, with which it shared its life during two years.

Since, Leonor knew to share with a right balance its career between films with large budget ( Blade II ) and independent films ( Pas so serious , Innocent Voices ).
