Leonard Nimoy , born the March 26th 1931 in Boston, Massachusetts, the United States, is an actor, a realizer and an American singer. It is mainly known to have incarnated the character of Spock in the televised series Star Trek.
After theater and courses of dramatic art, it takes part in a few series ( the fourth dimension , Bonanza , Perry Mason , Beyond reality ,…) before joining Star Trek. It also turns in several episodes of the series Mission impossible of 1969 to 1971 in the role of Paris, which succeeded Rollin Hand (role held by Martin Landau) in the team of Jim Phelps.
After these series, it turns over to the theater, present of the television programs, writing of the books of poetry and becomes realizer with the cinema (Star Trek III: In the search of Spock , Star Trek IV: Return to earth , Three men and a baby …) ! He plays in the first six films resulting from the series, and makes even appearances in Star Trek: The new generation (Unification leaves 1 and 2). The character of Spock is the only survivor of the first pilot of Star Trek, The Cage.
In the imaginary one of Gene Roddenberry, Spock was to have the red skin and felt the human emotions. The NBC chain did not want this extraterrestrial one, but Roddenberry held good, with however some installations: for second pilot ( Where the man exceeds the man / Where No man has gone before ), Spock became green (for problems of color application), had the cold logic allotted at the beginning with Number One, and was to be large and thin. With the realization of the pilot, Roddenberry hesitated between Léonard Nimoy and Martin Landau ( Cosmos 1999 , Mission impossible ); the first was selected, the second not being available.
