Leon Rothier , born with Rheims the December 26th 1874 and died in New York in 1951, is an opera singer (low) French.
Leon Rothier belonged to the orchestra of the philharmonic Company of Rheims, then entered to the Conservatoire of Paris. First price of song and opera in 1899, it began with the Op3era Comique on October 1st, 1899, then made a brilliant career with the the United States where he was partner of the largest opera singers of the time: Caruso, Chaliapine, Lily Pons, etc It was engaged with the Metropolitan Opera of New York in 1922.
He married in 1901 Mariette Béretta, known as Miss Charles, of the Opéra of Paris, then in 1905 Jeanne Simone Charpy.
