Leon Hurez
Leon Hurez (Strépy-Bracquegnies, June 3rd, 1924 - Louvière, July 27th, 2004) is a militant Walloon and Belgian politician , PSB.
He was burgomaster of Strépy-Bracquegnies (1965-1976) then of Louvière (1977-1984). He represented of 1961 to 1981 the administrative Arrondissement of Soignies to the Room. Minister for education (1972-1973), Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for the public office (1977-1979), he became president of the Parliament of Communauté Wallonia-Brussels and was also the first president of the Walloon Parlement
