Leon Halkin

Leon Halkin , born in Liege on May 11th 1906 and deceased in Liege on December 29th 1998, is a Belgian Historien , a Résistant and a Walloon militant.

Biography

Doctor in philosophy and letters of the University of Liege, former student of the National university of Paris, it to him was entrusted a new course created to the University of Liege: the course of history of the Principality of Liege. It was promoted doctor honoris causa Université of Strasbourg, Université of Montpellier and Protestant Faculté of Brussels like prize winner of the Price Montaigne (1977).

It is known for a republished book of multiple times under various titles, Initiation with historical criticism , which was published in Liege, Tongres and Paris. He was the author of an important article entitled Wallonia in front of the history in particular published in the Christian City of Jacques Leclerc.
