Born with Nimes in 1804, deceased in Nimes in 1886.

Charles Leon Dombre , called Leon Dombre is engineer and notable nîmois 19th century.

It was city council man of Nimes and will concoura with the election of mayor of the city.

Polytechnicien, Engineer of the Bridges and Chaussées, he was an important hydraulic engineer.

He thus directed the useful exploration of the Pont of Gard and the whole of the Roman aqueduct starting from 1846, which preceded its important restoration under Napoleon III.
