Leon Delbecque

Leon Delbecque is an industrialist and French politician born the August 25th 1919 and deceased the December 9th 1991 in Tourcoing.

Resisting, Leon Delbecque becomes militant then a person in charge gaullist by taking departmental responsabilities within the Rassemblement for French people then Social republicans. Principal private secretary of Jacques Chaban-Delmas in 1957, it becomes in 1958 deputy UNR Northern .

Near to Jacques Soustelle, he is opposed to independence Algérie and animates with him a certain number of movements pro-Algeria French and created the Committee of public hello. He breaks with the UNR and are connected with the Groupe Unit of the Republic. Beaten to the legislative elections of 1962, it moves away from the political life but remains close to Jacques Soustelle.
