Leon-Éli Troclet

Leon-Éli Troclet (Liege, on June 14th, 1902 - Brussels, on April 30th, 1980) is a Belgian politician POB then PSB and a Walloon militant

Draftsman, he becomes lawyer and professor with ULB. He entered Resistance in 1940 - 1944 and is imprisoned with the Citadel of Huy. He was Minister for the economic affairs, work in 1945 and the social welfare in 1945 - 1946, 1946 - 1949 and 1954 - 1958). He is sometimes regarded as the father of the Social security. Under the German occupation, it founds with Fernand Dehousse the democratic and socialist Rassemblement Walloon which will play a part in the federalistic policy and progressist after the Release. It is as a minister that it takes part in the Walloon National congress of 1945 when it defends there the thesis of the autonomy of the Wallonia.
