Leo Laporte

Leo Gordon Laporte (born on November 29th, 1956 with New York) is an author and diffusion American.

Beginning of career

Laporte studied the Histoire of China to the Université Yale. It started its associations with the computers with its personal computer. It operated the first and the only bulletin of the systems Macintosh, MacQueue, of 1985 to 1988.

Laporte the author of number of treating book of technologies, such as 101 Computer Answers You Need to Know , Leo Laporte' S 2005 Gadget Guides , Leo Laporte' S Guide to TiVo , Leo Laporte' S Guide to Mac OS X Tiger and Leo Laporte' S PC Help Desk . It also published a series of Almanac S annual: Leo Laporte' S Technology Almanac and Poor Leo' S Computer Almanac . The last was that of the year 2006.

During all its career, it also contributed to several magazines like the BYTE , InfoWorld and the MacUser .

Baladodiffusion

Laporte operates now a network of Baladodiffusion named TWiT.tv. The name is a derivative this WEEK in TECH (aka TWiT) which is lodged by Laporte. This baladodiffusée emission is still today one of most popular on ITunes and other supports of baladodiffusion, with more than 280.000 weekly remote loadings.

Laporte prefers to call its emission a " Netcast" , because the " term; Podcast" lend to confusion. People said to him that they could not listen to his emission because they did not have a iPod.
