Leo Jogiches (born on July 17th, 1867 with Vilnius; died on March 10th, 1919 with Communist Berlin), Polish.

Leo Jogiches engages very young person in the revolutionary action, and in 1890 sees itself constrained to leave then the Poland under Russian domination. In 1893, it Co-founds (with in particular Rosa Luxemburg) the SDKPIL, party Marxiste of Poland and Lithuania.

It takes part in the Russian revolution of 1905, is stopped with Warsaw and is condemned to the forced labors. He escapes and takes refuge in Germany, while directing the SDKPIL in exile. Within the parties " marxistes" Russian empire, Jogiches fights any form of nationalism, and is opposed to the Bolshevik fraction POSDR.

In 1914, he is opposed to the world war and passes in clandestinity. During the war, it takes part in the creation of the league Spartakiste (Spartakusbund) with Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht. The principal militants Spartakiste S are stopped for " anti-militariste" propaganda; , but Jogiches, always in clandestinity, manages to escape the arrests.

It actively invests in the German Révolution as of its release in November 1918. It takes part, like the other spartakists, with the creation of the Communist party of Germany (KPD) in December 1918, and made party of its power station of direction.

During the revolution, the militants of the KPD must face a wild repression, Rosa Luxemburg is assassinated in January 1919, and Leo Jogiches is in its turn stopped and assassinated in prison on March 10th, 1919.
