Leo Baekeland

Leo Hendrik Baekeland is a Belgian Chimiste , known for its research in Photographie and on the plastics.

Biography

Wire of modest a Shoe-maker of Ghent in Belgium, Leo Bakeland was born to with it in 1863. Endowed in Chemistry, Mathematical physics and economy, it obtains a Doctorat in Sciences with the university of its city in 1884. After having taught a few years, a honeymoon brings it to the the United States in 1889 where it is fixed. As of 1891, it is able to market a photographic paper revolutionary. Being able to develop in artificial light, this paper meets an immediate success. In 1899, Eastman Kodak repurchases the process for the fabulous amount at the time of a million dollars.
