They are herbaceous plants without chlorophyl, with sheets reduced to scales, parasites, areas moderated with subtropical, which one meets in the south-west of the the United States, with the Mexico and in Colombia.
The phylogenetic classification of APG II (2003) incorporates cettes plants, like the subfamily Lennooideae , in the Boraginacée S.
