Lenient Leaped
Clemente Leaped (born in 1742 with Mezzani in the Province of Parma, in Emilie-Romagna - died with Vienna in 1821) was a monk Jésuite, Poète and Traducteur Italy N, which was with the printer Giambattista Bodoni, one of the men of letters which collaborated in the ducal printing works of Parma.
Biography
Parmesan of birth, Clemente Leaped became, towards 1795, Bibliothécaire of the archduke Ferdinand of Habsbourg-Lorraine (1754 - 1806) to Brünn (currently Brno, in Czech Republic) in Moravie, and made the education of the son of this prince, who will become thereafter Duc of Modena.
One owes him of the estimated translations of Virgile and Ovide in Italian worms, which made it call the Delille of Italy . It also composed some original poetries of various kinds.
Works
The Œuvres of Lenient Leaped were published initially in 1798 with Venice, in 6 volumes In-8, under the title Opere publishes E new in versi ED in prosa by Adolfo Cesare, bookseller Venetian. This edition seems to contain a certain number of texts that Bondi will disavow thereafter. It made appear, with Vienna in 1808, a new edition, while specifying, in a warning placed in fronstispice “edition complete and the only correct one and approved by the author. ” In 1801, Cesare, the Venetian editor, had made appear the seventh volume supplementing the edition of 1798.
