Joseph Crétin (Montluel, December 9th 1799 - with the the United States, February 22nd 1857) was a man of the church French which was bishop of Saint-Paul-of-Minnesota.

  • 1823 - Ordered priest with Belley (Ain).

  • 1830 - Cleaned Ferney (Ain) where it was in station as vicar.

In 1838, it left for the the United States following the call Mgr Loras, bishop of Dubuque. It became cleaned there Meadow-of-Dog, then general Vicaire.

  • 1849 - Responsible for the mission of Saint-Paul-of-Minnesota, of which he became the first bishop.

  • 1851 - Crowned bishop of Saint-Paul-of-Minnesota, by Mgr Deviates, in the vault of évêché of Belley (Ain), where it had been ordered priest.

With its death, évêché of Saint-Paul-of-Minnesota counted 29 churches, 25 stations and 5 convents of nuns.
