Lemur (Acronym of Limbed Excursion Mechanical Utility Robots or in French Robots of excursion members for mechanical services) is a project of Robot developed by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) having for objective to assemble, assemble and repair space installations.

History

LEMUR I

In its first version, it is presented in the form of a Robot hexapode (equipped with six legs) weighing less than five kg. It is fed by internal batteries and lays out to detect its environment of a stereoscopic vision, an inertial power station and sensors on its six members.

The principal innovation of this robot is the fact that it is possible to adapt various tools to him, on each one of its members.
