Biography of the character in the series
Youth of the character
The fictitious life of Lemony Snicket is closely related to the organization VDC, which is behind the majority of the events described in the series. Lemony is the son of Jacob Snicket, a former member of VDC to the retirement, which wishes nevertheless that his/her children enter the organization. It passes a happy childhood, surrounded by his mother (of which the name is unknown), of her father, and his brother and his sister elder, the Kit twins and Jacques Snicket, with the White coffee Vacherin, a large dairy farm whose slags are also members of the organization, and where the family rather prefers food than in the Snicket residence, located in the capital. According to its dires, its preferred leisures of the time remained the harpsichord and the exercise of art taxidermic. This time of unconcern is broken rather quickly when him and its phratry is removed (with the agreement of their parents) from the family by a member of the organization, to begin its formation of VDC. After all the investigations concerning its disappearance had been classified, it is led to a general headquarter VDC, whose precise localization is unknown, to begin its formation there: it is also suggested that it passed from there a part to the Institute J. Alfred Prufrock and another to the HQ of the Mounts Mortmain, but was generally obliged to often change general headquarter because of the confrontations of the war of the schism of VDC. It is at the time of its first visit at a general headquarter that it meets the Duchess of Winnipeg, young VDC just like him, which will become one his/her best friends. The beginning of its adolescence is marked by its meeting with other young VDC in formation, whose majority will become its allies or its friends at the adulthood: Bertrand Baudelaire, Olivia or the Count Olaf. It meets the future love of its life, Béatrice, at eleven years, before their first training course does not start. Being both advances some on the schedule, Lemony points out to him that to arrive in advance is the distinctive sign of noble people, which deeply once obstructs it opposite his/her comrades made per hour. Lemony tries to be excused by inviting it to take a beer floated in a coffee located close to their HQ. It is starting from these events that Lemony develops very strong feelings in love for Béatrice, and that a friendship of long time is established between them. Its adolescence is also marked by a relation between mutual hatred and the Count Olaf, another young volunteer who devotes most clearly of his time to exasperate it. It is also suggested that it also could try to interfere in the common history of Lemony and Béatrice. Lemony took to also share, with Jerome, Béatrice and R, with mysterious forwarding in the Mounts Mortmain mentioned on several occasions in the series. During all this period, Lemony revives only very seldom his/her parents. After its baccalaureat, Lemony must indicate to the company the employment thanks to which it could be made useful as a member, and chooses the analysis rhetoric, which gives access to him a post of orthographical corrector at the heading obituary of Small Fastidious. This relatively happy period of its life is marked by its love affair with Béatrice, from which the trade of actress moves away them more often than it would wish it. Lemony, supposed to use its position of journalist as means of communication with VDC, has many contentions with Eleonora Poe, the influenceable editor association of the newspaper, but is supported by his/her Jacques brother, who works there as financial analyst. After the death of the mother of R, it is transferred critical plays, and uses its position to ridicule works of Olaf, which betrayed VDC for a certain time.
Style of writing of the narrator
Lemony has a style ironic, philosophical and austere, similar to that of Charles Dickens (see olive-tree twist), and likes to let plane one will have mystery around the future of Baudelaire and its own history which takes a place in the books. It seems to want only the good in the world but it is interfered with the businesses twisted VDC.
Film adaptation
In the film drawn from its series, Lemony Snicket is interpreted by Jude Law .le film tells the first three episodes of the adventures of the orphans Baudelaire and certain events are not in the good order. But malheuresement the film does not equalize the book, indeed truffle of errors whose tattooing with ankle of olaf.
