Leksands IF

Leksands I drotts F örening is a club Swedish of Sport of the Commune of Leksand in the area of the Dalécarlie. The creation of the club goes back to 1919, at the time it comprised two sections: Football and Bandy.

Hockey

The club is especially known for its team of Hockey. Indeed, in spite of the weak population of the city (6  000 inhabitants), the club of hockey played in the first Swedish division (Elitserien) of 1948 to 1950 then of 1951 to 2001, of 2002 to 2004 and at the time of the season 2005-06, that is to say 53 seasons.

Currently, the team plays in the Allsvenskan in the skating rink Ejendals Arena. The first match of hockey of the club was disputed on January 16th, 1938, a victory 11-0 over the neighbor Mora IK.
