The Leitneriaceae is a family of plants Dicotylédone S. It is the single family of the order of the Leitneriales according to the Classification of Cronquist (1981).
This family includes/understands only one species, Leitneria floridana , small resinous trees, with null and void sheets, originating in the south-east of the the United States.
In phylogenetic classification, this family and this order do not exist. Leitneria floridana is placed in the family of the Simaroubaceae .
