The second district of Two-Sevres is delimited by the electoral Découpage of the law n°86-1197 of the November 24th 1986 , it gathers the following administrative divisions:

The second district of Two-Sevres gathers the south of the department of the Two-Sevres, and is centered around the town of Saint-Maixent-the School.

According to the general Census of the population in 1999, carried out by the National institute of the Statistics and Economic studies (INSEE), the total population of this district is estimated at 90601 habitants^,.
