Leigh Brackett

Leigh Brackett is a novelist and American scenario writer of Science-fiction, Fantasy and black whodunnit, born the December 7th 1915 with Los Angeles, and dead the March 24th 1978. It was the woman of Edmond Hamilton, itself writer of SF.

Cinema

As a scenario writer Leigh Brackett worked for the realizer Howard Hawks, taking part in the writing of the Big sleep ( The Big Sleep ) in 1945, then of Rio Bravo in 1959 and El Dorado in 1966. She also wrote the scenario of the film Private the ( The Long Goodbye ) of Robert Altman in 1973.

In February 1978, a few weeks before its death, it gave to George Lucas a first outline of scenario for the Empire counter-attacks ( The Empire Strikes Back ). She is credited with the credits with film, although the following versions were written by the scenario writer Lawrence Kasdan and George Lucas.
