Lehendakari
One names lehendakari or lendakari the president of the Basque autonomous Communauté or Euskadi, literally out of Basque “first person in charge” (plural: lehendakariak), or Eusko Jaurlaritzako Lehendakari (“president of the Basque government”).
Before the establishment of the official orthography of the Euskara during the years 1970, the C-W communication used was Euzko Jaurlaritzaren Lendakari .
As much euzko that lendakari is Basque neologisms created by members of the Parti nationalist Basque.
The generic terms will euskara some for “president” and “government” are president (a) and gobernu (a) . Out of Basque, one uses the latter to refer to the presidents of other countries like the Prime Minister of Canada or the President of the French Republic. One holds the neologism lehendakari for the president of the Basque government.
