Legislative elections vénézuéliennes (2005)
The legislative elections vénézuéliennes of 2005 were held the December 4th 2005 in 23 States of the Venezuela as well as the capital Caracas to elect 167 deputies.
The opposition which had called with the Boycott these elections, controlled up to now 79 seats out of 165. Indeed five opposition parties, of which most important, democratic Action (Social democrat), COPEI (democratic Christians), Primero Justicia (Néolibéral), Proyecto Venezuela (Venezuela Project), Nuevo Tiempo (a New Time) decided the week previous the poll to withdraw their candidates to protest against the machines of e-voting suspectées to betray the confidentiality of the voters and the composition of the electoral National council, judged near to the capacity. Whereas these machines were considered by the international observers as being much more reliable than the majority of those used in the presidential election of 2004 in the United States.
The boycott largely followed with 75% of abstention is denounced by the president Hugo Chavez, who speaks about electoral Coup d'etat orchestrated by the the United States.

The Movement fifth republic (MVR), gained the majority of two thirds to the Parlement.
