Legislative Parliament of Yukon
The legislative Assemblée of Yukon is the legislature of the Canadian territory of the Yukon. It is in the territorial capital of Whitehorse. Three political parties are represented there: the Left Yukon, which forms a majority Gouvernement with its 10 Députés; the Liberal party of Yukon, with 5 deputies and the New Democratic party of Yukon, with its 3 deputies.
This composition is resulting from the general election of 2006. The September 8th 2006, the Prime Minister Dennis Fentie had required the dissolution of the legislative Parliament after defections of its deputies towards other parties reduced it to a Minority government. Following the election of October 10th, 2006, Fentie and its Party of Yukon are re-elected with a majority mandate; the Liberal party forms the official opposition.
