The Legio IV Flauia Felix (" Flauia sereine") Roman Légion was a consisted the Roman Emperor Vespasien in 70; it replaced the Legio IV Macedonica, created by Jules César. The symbol of the legion was the lion.

During the revolt of the Batavian , the Legio IV Macedonica fought for Vespasien. But the emperor was wary of his men, probably because they had supported his rival Vitellius in 68 (the year of the four emperors). For this reason, he laid off Legio IV Macedonica and raised a news IVe legion to which he gave his nomen (proper name), " Flauius" (Flavius).

Legio IV Flauia Felix was confined with Burnum (today Kistanje) in Dalmatie, where it replaced the Legio XI Claudia. After the invasion of the Daces in 86, the emperor Domitien moved it with Singidunum (Belgrade), in Mésie higher. One also keeps a trace of this legion, one of his " vexillationes ", with Viminacium, which was the base of the Legio VII Claudia and the capital of the area.

In 88, IVe legion took part in the fight against the invasion dace. It also took part in the Guerres against Daces carried out by the emperor Trajan, putting fine at the conflict by its victory with the Bataille of Tapae.

In 165, under the emperor Lucius Verus, it fought against the Parthian Empire.

After the death of Pertinax, Legio IV Flavia Felix gave its support for Septime Sévère against the usurpers Pescennius Niger and Clodius Albinus.

It has undoubtedly several times fought against the Sassanides but it remained confined as a Messiah higher until in first half of the 4th century.
