Legend is a British film carried out by Ridley Scott, left in 1985.

Synopsis

In an imaginary world where peace and the harmony are maintained thanks to the magic of a couple of Licorne S, live the princess Lily and Jack, an young man for whom nature seems not to have of secrecy.

This region, the demon Darkness, tapi in the darkness, awaits only one occasion to seize some: the death of the unicorns which will generate one night eternal. Goblins, and the love of Jack for its princess will help there.

Jack, with the assistance of Imp S and of a capricious Fairy, will have to do everything to restore what it contributed to destroy. Before it is too late…

Around film

  • If, at its exit in 1985, the film did not have the success discounted by its producers, it was recognized for its artistic qualities.
  • Entirely turned in studio, the sudden film of many problems, whose least was not the fire of plate 007 of the studios of Pinewood which destroyed one of the gigantic principal decorations (that of the forest) and obliged the realizer to re-examine the fitting of certain sequences.
  • the Maquilleur Rob Bottin conceived for the occasion a new type of make-up, containing silicone, allowing a better facial expression of the actors. It is enough to see only one sequence with incredible Darkness (compound by a Tim Curry époustouflant in spite of the kilos and the hours of make-up that it had to support) to realize that the bet was brilliantly won!
  • It also should be noted that there exist at least three assemblies different from film. An American assembly (where the splendid music of Jerry Goldsmith was replaced by compositions of the group Tangerine Dream) more centered on the action and that the realizer recognizes only end of the lips. An assembly European, in conformity with its wishes. And finally, an assembly " Director' S cut " conceived for an exit in DVD zone 1 (US) in 2001 when it is possible to discover (and to include/understand finally inter alia sequences!) why Jack is sudden cover of sweat right in the middle of its scene with the character of Gump of the honey spine, interpreted by David Bennent.
  • Shigeru Miyamoto, a creator of Japanese video games working for the account of Nintendo, stated to be inspired of the film Legend to create one of the most famous sagas of the video game: The Legend off Zelda. The principal hero, Link, resemble indeed Jack and his green behavior, the Zelda princess in Lilly and the malicious one of the history, Ganon, in Darkness (porcine form included/understood).
