Legal settlement of Bologna

The legal settlement of Bologna is signed on August 18th 1516, at the time of the V {{E}} council of Lateran, between the Pope Leon X and the Chancelier Antoine Duprat which represented the king of France François I {{er}}. This legal settlement put an end to the Pragmatic Sanction of Bourges and moderated the Gallicanisme.

It allowed the installation in the Kingdom of France of the Régime of the commende. The bishop S and Abbé S are not elected more as it was habit front, but chosen by the king of France. The pope then spiritually invests the candidates of the French monarch. Named swear then fidelities with king de France who gives them their temporal load.
