Lefthand canyon
The river " Lefthand" is an affluent of the river St Vrain (catchment area of the the Mississippi), length of forty kilometers in the county of Boulder, Colorado, the USA. It holds are name of an Indian chief of the tribe of the Arapaho of the South.
The river drains part of the buttresses of the Front Arranges (" chain frontale"), in the North-West of the town of Boulder. The river runs in throats locally narrow, known under the name of Left Hand Canyon
The valley of Hand Left is a traditional destination for cycling, the excursion and the climbing. The peaks overhanging the valley lodge populations of raptors and are usually closed end of the winter at the beginning of the summer, lasting the period of nesting.
In 1859, during the gold rush of Colorado, one of first discovered of gold was made with Gold Hill, roughly with half of the valley. Many mines and excavations now abandoned testify to this mining past.
