Lebon Governed

Lebon Régis is a city Brésil ienne of the western of the State of Santa Catarina. It is located by a Latitude of 26º 55 ' 44" south and by a Longitude of 50º 41 ' 42" west, with a Altitude of 980 meters. Its population was estimated at 12.331 inhabitants in 2006. The municipality extends on 941 km ².

History

Around 1895, the first inhabitants arrived in the area, come from other localities of the Santa Catarina and the Paraná.

The history of the municipality is related to the first exploitations agricultural S, located in Tightened da Esperança, which were created by explorers come from the State de São Paulo, after the conquest of the area of Curitibanos. As of the 19th century, the system of the Sesmaria S made possible the formation of cores of settlement, but the insulation of the area slowed down their development.

In 1903, in the northern part of the area, the district of São Sebastião da Boa Vista is created. In 1938, this district becomes a Vila under the name of Caraguatá and, in 1950, takes the name of São Sebastião C Sul. At the same time, in the southern part of the area, created for itself the locality Salto C Rio back Patos or Fazenda C Salto known later under the name of Santo Antônio C Trombudo. This last developed quickly, being located on the road of the Tropeiro S which made the way of Curitibanos to Caçador. Santo Antônio C Trombudo becomes district in 1934 and changes name to be called Lebon Régis in July of this same year. In 1938, the district of Lebon Régis becomes villa . Lastly, the December 19th 1958, the villas of São Sebastião C Sul and Lebon Régis amalgamated to create the municipality of Lebon Régis, which will be officially installed in January 1959.

The name of Lebon Régis is a homage to the general Gustavo Lebon Régis. This one, at the time of the War of Contestado between 1912 and 1916, as a general secretary of the State de Santa Catarina, conducted the first attack against Taquaruçu, one of principal the Fortified town of revolted.

The territory of the current municipality was the theater many fights and bloody combat between the Caboclo S and the armed forces. The consequences of this war are still felt today and the elderly happy still the adventures with the monks João Maria and Jose Maria and about the commander Adeodato.

Since its independence in 1959, the municipality experienced a strong development, accommodating Industrie S related to the Bois and with the production of vegetable fibers involved the development of the agricultural sector .
