Leatherface

Leatherface is a fictitious character who appears in the films Massacre with the slicer . It is one of the very first malicious films of horror of the kind: the Slasher S. It appeared in six films of the series from the exit of the original in 1974. It carries a made mask of human skin, which explains its name, and is a cannibal.

Leatherface is described as being " severely delayed and disturbed mentally, " and often uses a slicer and a mass to cut down its victims. He lives in a family of disturbed, often abusive cannibals and violent one in his connection. The character was inspired partly by the Serial killer ED Gein, which carried also the skin of its victims.

Films

Massacre with the slicer - 1974

The character was, in the beginning interprets by Gunnar Hansen. Its true name is unknown, although his/her big brother, Chop Top, calls it " Bubba" in second film.

In original film, Leatherface is never seen without its mask of human skin. It is different from the other killers of cinema insofar as it is not Sadique or Cruel: it is in fact mentally decreased, doing most of the time what its family orders to him. Hansen said that it is " completely under the control of its family. It would do all that they say to him to do. They frighten it a little ". Tobe Hooper known as in documentary the The Shocking Truth which it is a " large bébé" who kills to defend himself because it feels threatened, pointing fingers that in the first Leatherface film was terrorized by all these people entering his house.

The victims are then cooked in Barbecue and Chile, then sold by his/her older brother, Drayton Sawyer, managing local service station. In addition to Leatherface and Drayton, the Sawyer clan includes/understands his two brothers Nubbins (the hitch-hiker) and Chop Top (absent from this opus), like Grand father, Large mother and Large Arrière mother.

Continuations

Before the remake of 2003, one finds two continuations with original film of Tobe Hooper. Except for the first of the continuations, they follow their own history mainly since Leatherface is in a different family each time.

Massacre with slicer 2 (1986) is the continuation of film of 1974. More show-off whom the original, Tobe Hooper said in The Shocking Truth which he wanted to extend on the black comedy from original film, an element which, according to him, had not really been noticed. In this film, Leatherface has a very favorite for one of its victims, and in a scene, withdraws the skin of his/her friend (alive) and places it on its liked to hide it of Drayton and Chop Top.

The third title of the series, heading Massacre with Slicer 3: Leatherface is held according to its prore history, although some refer with preceding films are made. The realizers tried to make the series blacker and squeaking like the original, but the interventions of MPAA changed their vision, forced them to radoucir it and changed the end. A long version left in 2003. Leatherface has a girl in this film, probably resulting from a rape. Comics in 4 volumes, heading Leatherface based on film was also created; interressant fact: passages of the comics are told and shown from the point of view of Leatherface.

Leatherface appears once more in the third continuation, Massacre with slicer 4, the new generation . In this version, Leatherface is inexplicably not a cannibal, but an eater of pizza pie disguised implied in conspiracy Illuminati to bring to the company a source of horror.
