Created in 1956, the French league against vivisection - LFCV is a Association with nonlucrative goal entirely dedicated to the common cause of respect due to the man and the animal. Its founders were entirely won over to the fundamental values proclaimed in the declaration of the human rights and the citizen of 1789 integrated into the block of constitutionality then expressed solemnly in 1978 in Paris under the aegis of UNESCO in the universal declaration of the rights of the animal with approval of representatives of the international community.
The LFCV aims by the legal channels the abrogation of all the regulations guaranteeing the experiments, vivisections, undergone by the man or the animal at the origin of self-inflicted injuries or deteriorations being able to cause irreversible after-effects. She is opposed to any form of trade founded at experimental ends, traffics of bodies on the man or the animal. She also implies herself in animal defense.
The LFCV publishes a review entitled “Antivivisection” with an aim of informing the reader on the scientific topicality concerning the animal cause thanks to the contest of the Pro scientific committee Animated and of enabling him to follow the evolutions, actions in progress. It also sticks to the collection and the data processing concerning the animal cause.
The league is partner of the committee of vigilance and action for the animal Bien-être which proposes the creation of a legal status specific to the animal and the integration of a law of the animal in the French fundamental law.
