League Edge-Am of Baseball

The Canado-American Association or Ligue Edge-Am is a Ligue independent of baseball based in the North-East of the the United States and in the Canadian province of the Quebec. None of their teams is affiliated with teams the major Ligue baseball.

The league is founded in 1936 when teams of baseball of Brockville, Ogdensburg, Oswego, Ottawa, Perth and Watertown/Massena gather and continues its activities until 1942 when they are stopped by the Second world war. In 1946, the league is reformed with teams of Amsterdam, Gloversville-Johnstown, Oneonta, Pittsfield, Rome, Quebec, Schenectady and Three-Rivers. This time, the league will survive until 1951, whereas the television and the retransmission of professional matches are fatal for him.

The Ligue Northeast is formed in 1995, and amalgamates thereafter with another independent league, the Ligue Northern, in 1998. After the season 2002, the league défusionne. October 6th 2004, the league modifies its name to become again the League Edge-Am.

1995

At the time of the inaugural season, the league was composed of 6 teams: the Lumberjacks of Adirondack (Glens Falls, NY), the Diamond Dogs of Albany-Colony, the Mountain Lions of Sullivan County (Mountaindale, NY), the Nighthawks de Newburgh, the Landsharks de Mohawk Valley (Little Falls, NY) and the Hoot Owls de Yonker. Albany gains the first championship of regular season. During eliminatory series, Adirondack gains the final 2 victories against 1 vis-a-vis Albany and gains the first championship of the Northeast league.

1996

For its second season, Yonker, Sullivan County as Mohawk Valley declare fixed price. But the league accommodates despite everything 3 new teams in its rows: the Pionners d' Elmira, the Tiger Sharks of Rhode Island (West Warwick, IH) and the Blue OX of Bangor.

Expansion

Prospections are done in Montreal and its area in order to bring back a professional team of baseball there. Displeased rumors circulate when on arrival of Ottawa in Association whereas its team of Internationle League leaves the city for Pennsylvania after the season 2007.
